We hope you can help us take Panther in the Sky on tour. It has been many many years since I started working on this play. It has gone through readings and revisions and yet, my black and brown students are still sharing similar stories about a family member — mostly a brother or a son — who has been killed by gunfire. What seems to be lacking from the discourse in ending gun violence is the need to come together — to build solidarity among Chicagoans in different neighborhoods — to address the issue head on. We’re hoping to use the play to do that.
